Slutist is a sex positive feminist collective founded by Kristen in 2013. Called “seriously smart” by Glamour UK, and delivering “the perfect combo of sex, pop culture, and feminism,” according to Bust Magazine, Slutist aims to uncover and undress the intersections between sex, gender, sexuality and feminism in art, entertainment, politics, and the occult. Slutist also aims to highlight how sexist archetypes of “the slut” and “the witch” have historically been used to police and punish women and female sexuality, but are also embraced by many as identities that offer power beyond patriarchy.
The site features original artwork, op-eds, interviews, and exclusive features from contributors who represent a variety of lived experiences, from artists and sex workers to witches and feminist outliers. Past Slutist events have included 2015 and 2016’s Legacy of the Witch festivals at Saint Vitus in Brooklyn, and the Witch Slut Are You? show at Wallplay gallery in Manhattan.
